Pair Antique English Sterling Silver Napkin Rings by Henry Bourne

19th century
Sold by Puckerings
Description

A lovely pair of Victorian napkin rings complete in their original presentation case.

The silver napkin rings are beautifully engraved with a Fern decoration with a vacant cartouche to the front. Both are hallmarked for the silversmith, Henry Bourne; one is hallmarked for Sheffield 1892 and the other for Sheffield 1896; this is not a mistake being different dates; at the silversmith's there would have been a finished box of napkin rings in each design and they would be picked and packed into the presentation box not necessarily the same date. They are a true Victorian pair.

The box is lined in navy blue velvet and silk; the silk lid is printed in gold with the retailer "Monk Bros. Jewellers, Bolton".

Excellent condition. Each napkin ring measures 1 1/4" with a diameter measuring 1 3/4". They have a combined weight of 2.06 Troy Ounces / 64.2 Grams. The case measures 5 3/8" x 3" x 2 1/2" tall.

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.
