Description

Charming silver photograph frame with embossed and pierced decoration set around a heart shaped aperture. Set on a brown velvet background with easel back. There is an unengraved cartouche to the top. Hallmarked for London 1897, makers the Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Co. (William Gibson & John Lawrence Langman).

It measures 19cm (7 1/2") top to bottom and 13.5cm (5 1/4") wide. Standing it is 18.5cm (7 1/4") high. The aperture is approx. 11.5cm (4 1/2") high by 9cm (3 1/2") wide at the widest points. Condition is very good; the velvet is not original but has reasonable age and in good condition. The silver has no damage or repairs and surface wear is light.
