Mid-size 9 ct gold Record wrist watch, 1951.

The watch has a signed Swiss 15-jewel hand-winding movement which is working nicely.

The watch measures 22mm wide excluding the winding crown and 32mm high excluding the lugs... although originally designed as a man's watch, it would suit a slimmer wrist. The case is 9 carat gold and there are hallmarks inside the case back for Birmingham 1951 with the case maker's name Dennison... the Dennison Watch Case Company made cases for many watch manufacturers. The case is in lovely condition, just a little unevenness to the back. The back of the watch has a 1954 inscription for 30 years' loyal service.

The slightly convex lens is in good condition.

The signed dial is in its original finish, there are light marks across it but nothing serious. Original blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track.

A new leather strap has been fitted.

The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
