Description:
Here is a fine quality antique English Art Deco burr walnut bow front shaped two drawer bedside chest, circa 1930, with later adapted legs, in excellent condition. The chest is constructed with stunning mirror matched burr walnut veneers on a solid frame. The chest comprises a reverse-bowed veneer top with rounded corners and round moulded cross banded front edge. Below, in line with the top is a pair of graduated drawers. Further below is an outward-bowed lower tier featuring a veneered top and moulded cross banded edge in the same style as the top of the chest. The lower section includes a larger drawer, which boasts a shaped apron to the drawer front. All drawers run smoothly and close flush to the frame, featuring their original turned knobs. The chest is raised on turned tapering legs. These bedsides boast classic Art Deco styling throughout; this is visible in the rounded corners and clean lines and stepped design.

Dimensions:
Height = 75cm or 29½” or 2ft 5½”
Width = 58cm or 22?” or 1ft 10?”
Depth (including knobs) = 47.2cm or 18?” or 1ft 6?”

Condition Report:
This chest is in excellent condition, which is commensurate with its age. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges, drawer fronts and sides, but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The chest has been adapted from an Art Deco dressing table, with the legs being later additions. The chest features lovely mirror matched burr walnut veneers, boasting a rich walnut colour, which is intact and in excellent condition. The drawers close flush to the frame and retain their original knobs. The chest is well-constructed, solid in joint and ready to use.
