Description

A small Georgian period Suffolk 'cottage' longcase clock of small proportions. An early example of a painted dial with raised gilt corners with flowers. A seconds dial and blued steel hands. An oak case with a flat top pediment and side glass hood apertures. Brass capped hood columns. An 8-day duration mechanism striking the hours on a bell.

William Mayhew of Woodbridge is recorded in Baillies' 'Clockmakers and Watchmakers of The World' book as working in 1784.
