Description

This is a very nice English regulator clock by W Bone London circa 1870 which is in lovely condition.
I can find no record of W Bone in London at the time although a Samuel Bone recorded working in London in 1881 and I assume it was the makers relative , perhaps his son. There is also the possibility that W Bone was a jeweler and this was a bought in regulator for his shop
The dome topped case is veneered in the very finest flame mahogany and has a small access door in the hood to adjust the movement which has four massive pillars and dead beat escapement with maintaining power . The wheels have six spokes and high count pinions. The offset pulley is beautifully made and allows the small weight to descend into a hole in the base
The one piece glazed trunk door contains the sight ring and foliate carving which allows the temperature controlled mercurial pendulum , pulley and weight to be seen. This is enhanced by a mirror fitted to the backboard of the clock.
As can seen in photographs this clock is in superb condition throughout and will delight the most discerning buyer. Interested parties are encouraged to view the clock as it is actually better in the flesh.
The 14 inch silvered brass dial is of typical regulator form and is signed by the maker
This is a genuine and original clock which represents excellent value for money
It is in perfect working order have been recently serviced
I will deliver , set up and provide 12 months guarantee in England Wales and the Scottish lowlands at the full asking price
