Description

This is a superb Russian silver and niello snuff box. The front hinged cover with niello work decoration featuring a bridge over a river with various buildings in the background. The back with a country mansion amongst trees and scrolls. The sides embellished with an elongated trellis pattern. The interior of the box retains the original gilding.

Maker's marks: Alexander Fuld, Moscow, 1862-1917.

Moscow city mark

84 zolotniki silver.

Date mark erased: - circa 1880.

Condition:

Fair.

Front and back panel in very good condition.

Sides with some losses to the niello decorations.

Interior gilding in very good condition.
