Stunning Antique English "Quilted" Silver Plated Biscuit Barrel or Box

Description

A wonderful example of an English Victorian biscuit or cracker barrel dating to around 1880, hallmarked on the underside of the integral tray J D & S for James Deakin & Sons together with EP for Electro-Plated.

The entire body of the caddy has a wonderful repousse quilted design with each pillow having an engraved centre, coordinating with the large quatrefoil vacant cartouche to the front, which could be engraved if desired.

The inside is nice and clean as can be seen in the photographs. The box stands on it's original ball feet.

A wonderful and highly decorative piece in excellent condition, measuring 8" tall with the integral tray base measuring 7 1/2".
