Antique English Pierced or Reticulated Basket - Green Opaline Glass Liner - Silver Plated

Description

Dating to around 1880, this is a striking basket, perfect for all sorts of things, nuts, candy, preserves, sugar or perhaps pot-pourri.

Both the footed base and body of the basket are beautifully pierced or reticulated, highly decorative with the Jade coloured glass showing through.

The removable glass liner is perfect and without damage, totally original, the base having been custom molded to fit snugly into the base of the basket.

The handle is particularly attractive with it's twisted design, standing upright or folding down to either side.

A superb piece in excellent condition and measuring 8" tall to top of handle with a rim diameter of 5".
