Rare Edwardian Silver Double Stamp Case / Holder In Desk Form

A delightful, very rare, solid silver double Stamp Case / Holder. This wonderful Holder is in the form of an elegant desk. The desk lid, which is hinged at the back, opens to reveal 2 stamp compartments. Clear hallmarks are visible on one side of the desk, with partial marks underneath the lid, for the Birmingham Assay Office with a date mark for 1907 and Lion passant indicating the finest sterling silver. The maker''s mark is also clearly visible for the silversmith A&J Zimmerman.
A unique stamp holder for a collector! , very rarely seen in this form, in lovely antique collector''s condition. (There are some minor dings to the desk handles which do not detract from this item in any way which we mention for accuracy only).
