An incredibly stylish chair, redolent of the Arts & Crafts movement, in solid English oak. The thickly cut dished seat is supported on inversely tapering square-section legs with chamfered corners. There are seven hexagonal faceted spindles surmounted by a dished top-rail back support. It retains its original finish with a most attractive warm colour and patination. It is of small scale, with the seat measuring only 33.5cms off the ground. It is English, c.1920.
