In front of the centre drawer is a boxwood lined slide which allows access to the well. The writing area with replaced hand dyed burgundy coloured leather with blind and gold tooling, set within rosewood cross banding. The whole standing on tall tapering cabriole legs with brass sabots, beading and mounts. This bureau de dame retains all the brass gilded mounts, beading, escutcheons and sabots (with keys). Overall inlaid with subtle boxwood inlay and kingwood cross banding. The cabinets lined with the original but faded burgundy coloured velvet. In very good condition with a wonderful mellow patina.
