Fowey River Antiques has dated this piece to the 1950s.
This is a super example of a ladies cocktail watch by Baume and Mercier.
It also has diamond collars on the bracelet.
The diamonds are bright, crisp and evenly matched and has the total weight is approximately 1.5cts, the sparkle they generate is just stunning.
The case is made by Vertex who were one of the leading makers of high end diamond watches of the period.
It is fitted to its original solid 9ct white gold bracelet with a three position safety clasp.
It will fit a wrist size of up 7 inches but this can be reduced by any competent jeweller.
The case measures 22mm in diameter not including the winding crown.
It has a top quality gold plated Baume and Mercier movement
It comes with a premium quality wooden presentation box.
It is quite stunning with a silver dial which in perfect condition. A new glass has been fitted and it has been cleaned and polished so it is absolutely pristine.
This watch certainly has that understated elegance which resonates class, truly a piece of jewellery which will never date.
This watch has been fully and professionally overhauled, the process is highly detailed and meticulous.
The watch is stripped down to its component parts and each part is examined under a microscope for signs of wear, any worn parts are replaced with genuine manufacturers original parts. every part is then thoroughly cleaned in a 3 stage ultrasonic cleaning process.
The movement is then fully assembled using manufacturer approved oils and lubricants and is carried out in a clean room environment. The watch movement is then checked and adjusted for accurate time keeping. The cases are polished and the watch sealed.
Obviously this is not a cheap or quick process which is why our watches are sometimes a little more expensive than others but you can be assured our watches will give reliable and dependable service and will not require any further attention for many years.
