Christian Davies Antiques Ltd has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
Having twin glazed doors veneered in burr walnut with ebony borders and opening to reveal a single adjustable plate glass shelf and a mirrored back with a silk lined base. The doors are flanked by stunning free standing columns with Corinthian carved capitols, boxwood line inlaid detail and stunning acanthus carved bulbous turnings raised on rectangular pillars. The glazed ends with pilasters, fine marquetry inlaid detail and supported on shaped bracket feet. Although un-marked this cabinet was undoubtedly made by one of the premier 19th Century cabinet makers such as Holland & Sons, Gillow & Co or Possibly Lambs of Manchester. English circa 1860-1870
