Georgian Silver Mounted Hardstone Snuff Box, Circa 1800

Description

This exquisite George III silver mounted agate snuff box dates circa 1800. Of conventional rectangular form, both front and back set with a bevelled agate panels. The hinged cover with a simple thumb piece. The back with concealed flush hinge.

The sides with reeded decorations.

Hallmarks:

Unmarked as was often the case with small Georgian silver items.

Tested as silver.

Condition:

Very good.

Good hinge .

Agate in very good condition.

Snaps shut nicely.

Dimensions:

5cm x 3.5cm x 1.5cm / 2 inches x 1.4 inches x 0.4 inches.
