Georgian Yew Wood Windsor Armchair. Circa 1780

Description

Rare Thames Valley yew wood windsor armchair with triple draught splat back and similar splats under shaped arms. raised on elegant turned legs united with plain stretchers. All in superb condition with a couple of very minor repairs. Wonderful rich colour with great waxed patina. Probably made by Robert Prior of Uxbridge but not stamped by him. A very rare type.

Size; 36" high, 21" wide across arms, 21" deep. Seat height 18"
