Description

Beautiful set of late 19th.c. walnut and leather dining chairs c.1880. Four chairs plus a matching pair of open armchairs or carvers. Superb frames in solid walnut with pierced backrests cleverly carved to make a continuous entwined ribbon form and shaped arms with scrolling terminals. Over sprung seats with the original tan leather upholstery and brass stud edges. Shaped and carved apron below the seat and raised on carved cabriole legs front and rear. Shaped and moulded stretchers to the four chairs. General minor wear to the leather with some obvious marks to one of the seats. Otherwise excellent unrestored condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
