A lovely silver circular box with a beautifully decorated tortoiseshell lid. The tortoiseshell is a lovely deep colour with silver pique decoration applied to the centre and a neat decorative frame around the circumference The box stands on three attractive feet. The lid is hinged and opens and closes perfectly with a nice apricot velvet interior. The base of the Box is brown leather. Hallmarks are visible to both just beneath the hinge at the back and also on one side of the lid for the Birmingham Assay Office with a date mark for 1923 and Lion Passant indicating Sterling Silver. The silver maker''s marks are also very clear for the Alexander Clark & Co.A beautiful Trinket Box; lovely proportions.   Condition; The lid of the box is in wonderful condition.
