Fowey River Antiques has dated this piece to the 1950s.
The watch is the calibre 353 automatic movement and the serial number dates this accurately. The reference number is 2627.
The oscillating weight makes a partial rotation before "bumping" into a cushioning spring.
The dial has been fully restored so is in perfect condition, it has rose gold batons and hands.
This is the very first Seamaster with a date.
It measures 35.5mm in diameter excluding the winding crown.
It also has the Omega symbol on the original domed winding crown and a genuine Omega buckle.
A new glass has been fitted and the case has been professionally polished so it is in superb condition.
As you would expect the watch is fully marked on the dial, movement and case.
The watch has been fully serviced and is guaranteed to be a genuine Omega in all respects. It has been professionally overhauled, the process is highly detailed and meticulous.
It is stripped down to its component parts and each part is examined under a microscope for signs of wear, any worn parts are replaced with genuine manufacturers parts. Each part is then thoroughly cleaned in a three stage ultrasonic cleaning process.
The movement is then fully assembled using manufacturers approved oils and lubricants and is carried out in a clean room environment. The movement is then checked and adjusted for accurate time keeping. The cases are polished and sealed.
Obviously this is not a cheap or quick process which is why our watches are sometimes a little more expensive than others but you can be assured our watches will give you reliable and dependable service and will not require further service for many years.
