Description

Oak and leather porter’s armchair c.1930. Solid oak frame with the domed canopy top typical of the form. Over swept sides and a sprung seat, raised on elaborately turned and block feet and stretchers. Upholstered inside and out in brown leather with brass studs. Unusually the canopy is actually removable, held in place with small iron hook latches. With some obvious wear to the surface of the leather and a couple of repaired splits to the seat and inside the left hand arm. Otherwise very good condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
