Large Pair of Marble & Gilt Cassolettes C.1880.

Description

Fabulous pair of large late 19th.c. French marble and ormolu garnitures or cassolettes c.1880. Well figured green marble urns with separate lids. Superb original gilded ormolu mounts with acanthus leaf and laurel wreath detail and pineapple finials. Raised on ormolu stems with unusual twisted flutes, on a shaped marble plinth with neat gilded feet. Excellent condition.
