A Rare Small Charles II Period Dresser Base C1680.

17th century
Description

A rare small Charles II period oak dresser base Circa 1680, having heavy cushion molded drawers with boxwood veneered back and brass knobs. The plank top with cleated ends having a heavily molded cornice and the same molding mirrored below the drawers enclosing them in a frame flanked by molded oblong columns. To the base are three finely turned baluster legs, each supporting a heavy arcaded frieze with mounted carved brackets.

The dresser base has a few old restorations which is to be expected with a piece of this age.

However this piece is in superb condition.
