Puckerings has dated this piece to the 1920s.
The lid has a pretty continual floral & foliate border and a tactile beaded edge. The box stands on it's four original cast silver legs, particularly elegant.
The interior is nice and clean with a blue velvet and pleated cream silk around the sides, the cream silk to the bottom looks to have been replaced, exceptionally well done, the underside to the base is made from solid Oak wood.
There is a good clear hallmark for Birmingham 1923 together with the makers mark, W.N Ltd for William Neale & Sons Ltd.
An excellent sized Jewelry box, larger than the norm, measuring 5" x 3 1/2" and standing 2" tall.
