Description

An unusual and large Chinese porcelain barbers bowl, c. 1720, Kangxi Period. The hexagonal shaped bowl, painted to the centre, with flowering plants, in the Chinese Imari taste. The border, with further similar decorated flowering plants. with a continuous Ruyi head motif to the rim. The exterior painted with more flowering plants, above an unglazed foot rim, which is pierced for suspension. Length - 35 cm, 13 3/4”.

Width - 26.5 cm, 10 3/8”.

Depth - 10.2 cm, 4”.

Condition - Typical minor fritting to the rim. No restoration.
