A very decorative Japy Freres gilt brass clock set in excellent condition. It is French Gothic in style, with lions mask and hairy paw feet. It is constructed of brass with a gilded finish which is in excellent bright and clean condition. Candelabra are styled with elaborate scrolling arms and are complete with original snuffers. These sit in the central sconce as a finial.
it has a lovely hobnail bezel with convex glass.
The Japy Freres French movement is of this clockmakers usual excellent quality. It runs for 8 days on one wind and is in very good clean and running condition having been fully overhauled by our clockmaker. We have replaced the missing pendulum. The case is in excellent original condition, bright and fresh with hardly any wear or discolouration. The enamel dial is in excellent condition, just some tiny chips around the winding holes. The glass has a light scratch. Candelabra arms are slightly distorted The set displays beautifully as you can see in the pictures below!
Complete with pendulum and a suitable key. Full setting up instructions supplied if required.
