Antique Victorian Solid Silver Cream Jug / Boat

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: The Silver Cabinet

This is a very pretty example of a solid sterling silver cream jug or boat.

It is clearly hallmarked on the base for London 1891, with the maker''s mark of Horace Woodward & Co (Edgar Finley & Hugh Taylor). The entire body of the jug is covered in a heavily embossed foliate decoration which sits below a flying scroll handle. The jug stands squarely on 3 pad feet. There is a small set of italicised initials under the spout which are quite difficult to determine. Overall, in excellent condition.
