Cased Set Of 4 Victorian Salts & Spoons Hallmarked 1900/1901

A wonderful cased set of 4 Victorian Silver Salts with Spoons. The style is elegant with an eye catching gadrooned border around the top and fluted design around the lower half of each salt. The body of the salt sits on four nice ball feet. The inside is gilt therefore there is no need for glass liners.
Each of the alts is fully hallmarked for the Chester Assay Office with a date mark for 1901 and maker''s marks for William Aitkin.
The spoons are hallmarked Birmingham 1900 by the maker Charles Wilkes. (The set was probably put together by the Retailer). Each of the spoons have a gilt bowl and a pretty gadrooned border around the edge of each terminal.
A really superb set, that comes encased in the original Victorian presentation box.
Both the salts and spoon and the case are in great antique collector''s condition - a truly wonderful set.
Measurements: Each Salt: Height: 4.5 cm approx Width: 7 cm approx Depth: 5.2 cm ap...prox.
Combined weight of case and silver items: 547 grams approx.
