In A Nutshell Antiques and Interiors has dated this piece to the Georgian era.
The drawers have brass swan neck drop handles and brass escutcheons and it stands on bracket feet. The fitted interior is excellent quality with the pigeon holes having fretwork moldings, also a sliding floor and hiding two secret drawers either side of the central cupboard.

It is in good condition and has developed a wonderful rich colour. The piece has been thoroughly cleaned and gently polished, retaining the original patina. The oak lined drawers run smoothly, having had the runners either repaired or replaced, and are generally clean and tidy inside. There are some signs of age and use and some historic repairs but nothing detrimental and overall it displays very well. The escutcheons have been replaced at some point and there are old shrinkage splits in the side panels and old repaired breaks to the fretwork interior. The lock has been removed and the void filled with a piece of wood and the hinges and feet have also has some repair work done. Although there are some repairs it is a well maintained piece which is strong and sturdy and is ready for use.
