Rare 18th Century Miniature Burr Walnut Chest on Stand

Description

A beautiful original 18th century miniature figured walnut chest on stand apprentice piece; with feather banded inlaid top with cross cut moulding above corresponding doors retaining original brasswork and lock, the interior revealing a bank of finely oak lined drawers with drop handles retaining traces of gilding, central drawer with two rear secret drawers. The lower section with one central long drawer flanked by 2 further long secret drawers, the lower stood on turned leg with shaped cross stretcher and stood on bun feet. Overall remarkably good honest condition, hinge one side old replacemens, some movement to the veneers and wear composite with age and usage wear, exterior darker polished over than interior which is untouched. A lovely little piece from a private collection.
