Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Five-stone rings became highly popular during the late Victorian era, often crafted as half-hoop bands symbolising love, commitment, or distinct milestones. The design typically arranged rubies, sapphires, or diamonds in a horizontal row across the finger.

Rings from this period were predominantly forged in 18ct or 15ct yellow gold, holding natural gemstones such as rubies, sapphires, and diamonds. The mountings frequently featured hand-carved openwork galleries designed to maximize light penetration.

Authentic Victorian pieces often display hand-engraved details, scrolled or carved claw settings, and distinct historical hallmarks. Hand-cut gemstones with slight asymmetry and the absence of modern casting seams also indicate period authenticity.

A Victorian five-stone ring can be worn as a standalone statement piece or stacked alongside contemporary slender gold bands. Its low-profile setting makes it practical for daily wear with both casual and formal tailored clothing.

Clean the piece using warm water, mild soap, and a soft-bristled toothbrush to remove dust beneath the gallery. Avoid harsh ultrasonic cleaners or chemical solvents, and inspect claw settings periodically to ensure the gemstones remain secure.
