George III Stick Barometer by Watkins & Hill

Description

A George III Mahogany Stick Barometer.

The rounded top surrounding the silvered dial, the dial with weather indicators and a sliding cursor. The dial engraved for the maker Watkins & Hill, 5 Chancery Lane, London. the body holding the exposed tube, running to the orb cistern cover, with a horizontal cock bead. The outer edge of the barometer finished with a stepped mould edge.

Width 4 1/2 inches, 11cm.

Depth 3 inches, 7cm.
