A Faraday and Sons Pullman Brass Lamp with Maker's Mark

1900 - 1920
Description

Circa 1910- A fine quality original brass Pullman Lamp that has been rewired to UK specifications and is in very good condition. The Faraday & Son registered mark is at the bottom of the column.

Robert Faraday had a foundry in Wardour St. London between 1825 - 1919 and then it was sold to the Osler company. Faraday was an important figure during the turn of the century in striving to produce safer gas lighting, and was a pioneer in manufacturing electric lamps.

This Pullman measures 35.5cm in height in total and up to the base of the lamp holder it measures 31cm. The width across the feet is approximately 17cm.

It takes any standard UK fitting shade, or we have a selection of original glass lampshades from this period on our website lancasterantiques.co.uk and brass shade carriers can be sourced online. Please see example in last few photographs.
