Gents 1920s West End Watch Company Secundus wrist watch.
The watch has a signed hand-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is protected by an inner cover which has some surface scratches.
The watch measures 31mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the fixed wire lugs so it would suit a slimmer wrist. The case is nickel. The front is in good condition. The case back has small marks across it.
The glass lens is in good condition.
The white enamel dial is signed West End Watch Co, Secundus. During the inter-War years, West End Watch Co prospered and the two high end brands of that period were the Sillidar and the Secundus, both available in wrist and pocket watch form. The company concentrated on supplying the British Empire domestic markets with India taking the largest share.
The dial on this particular watch has several hairline cracks but they are faint. Blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track.
A new leather strap has been fitted.
The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.
All of our watches are checked over before listing, and are also checked for accuracy which is usually within around +/- two to three minutes over 24 hours (unless otherwise stated), which is considered respectable for a vintage watch.
