Antique Solid Sterling Silver Tea Set

1900 - 1920
Description

A fine example of an antique tea set consisting of a tea pot and sugar bowl. It is a stylish set with an elegant shape, ribbed detail to the base and ebonised handles on the teapot. Both pieces are engraved on one side with the letter 'A' and on the other side with the letter 'W'.

It is excellent quality with a combined weight of 621g with the handles. It is fully hallmarked for Charles Horner, Birmingham, 1906. The outer hallmark on the teapot is slightly rubbed but it is very clear inside the lid and on the sugar bowl.

The whole set is in very good condition. There are some faint surface marks and a few light scratches and some small dents and dinks - one particularly on the spout that I have photographed and a few around the edges but overall it displays very well. It has been gently cleaned and polished is ready for use.

Approximate Measurements :

Tea Pot Length : 11 1/2" (29cm)

Tea Pot Height : 5 1/2" (14cm)

Sugar Height : 3 1/2" (9cm)

Sugar Length : 7" (18cm)

The best description comes from the photos so please look at them all carefully and if you have any questions please ask. UK Delivery £15.

Archival Detail
Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.
