Description

Dating to around 1880, a wonderful piece of exotic Rosewood was used to veneer this French box with colours from pale cognac to dark, almost black grain marks in places.

The centre of the lid is beautifully inlaid with the work "Gants" or gloves, but now more likely to be used on a desk or as a jewelry box today.

The interior is lucky enough to have retained it's original paper lining.

Excellent condition measuring 10" x 4 1/4" x 3" tall.
