In A Nutshell Antiques and Interiors has dated this piece to the Regency era.
It has a lovely rich colour and is strong and sturdy with a good level top. There are small lead balls on the bottom of each foot, possibly later added to give extra height. The top of the table is on a thread and can be taken off.
It has a historic repair to an old split in the top which has not affected the table structurally or aesthetically (see photo). There are various small marks, stains, knocks and signs of use and age but no major damages or anything detrimental. It has been cleaned and gently polished and is ready for use.
