It transforms easily in one movement from chair to steps. There is a small metal latch on the side which holds it in place.
It is in good original condition with a nice patina and the whole piece is very sturdy. There are signs of age and use, some small knocks and marks but no major damages. It displays very well and has been cleaned and gently polished and is ready for use.
