Description

For sale is a fine quality Antique Mahogany Chippendale Style Serpentine Partners Desk by S&H Jewell. The top of the desk has a hand dyed green leather hide, decorated with a centre motif as well has fine gold and blind tooling. The top has gadrooned edge, above three drawers on each side, all having fine brass handles. The top fits onto two pedestals, each with three drawers. The outside and inside ends of the desk are both paneled and have decorative carved motifs to the corners of each panel. Raised on finely carved serpentine bracket feet, this piece is in very good condition for its age. This piece, being made by S&H Jewell has been constructed from the finest quality materials of the day, featuring superbly figured mahogany veneers throughout.

S&H Jewell were cabinet makers of fine quality furniture from as early as 1830, making top quality furniture for stately homes, as well as restoring and re-selling earlier pieces.
