-Welcome to Mersham Manor Antiques-
A simply stunning dark birch serpentine shaped chest-of-drawers.
Early Victorian c1850.
The moulded edge serpentine top is over an arrangement of two short drawers over three long graduating drawers.
Pine lined drawers of dove-tail construction.
Canted corners, with a plinth base.
Ornate brass swan-neck handles. All escutcheons and original locks are present, with a working key which fits all locks.
The figuring and colour of the satin-birch is superb, with a wonderful lustrous finish and warm patina.
Excellent antique condition. Replacement handles. Some decoration to the canted corners appears to have been historically removed, as there are slight minor shadows as to where it once was.
Very solid, heavy, strong and sturdy.
