Small Carved Oak Coffer. Circa 1680

17th century
Description

Good small late 17th. century paneled oak coffer with two panel front with diamond carving and well carved strapwork frieze. Paneled top, sides and back. Candle box (no lid) within. Original iron lock plate and iron pin hinges. In fine condition with some old and very dead worm to bottom rails to each side. Lovely rich dark nutty colour with great waxed patina.

Size; 35.5" wide, 17" deep, 20" high
