Gents 14ct gold Doxa wrist watch.

The watch has an automatic movement, a Doxa 116 (which is based on an ETA 2452) which is working nicely. The movement is fully signed on the rotor and underneath the balance.

The watch measures 33.5mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs. The case is 14ct gold and there are Continental hallmarks inside the case back together with the poinçons de maître mark for the case maker Gindraux SA of La Chaux-de-Fonds. The case is in good condition, just some light surface marks to the back but nothing serious at all. The back of the watch is signed with the Doxa name although quite faint.

The lens is in good condition.

The signed dial is in good original condition with original hands, centre seconds and an early form of quickset date where the hands are moved repeatedly backwards and forwards between 12.30 midnight and 9pm until the desired date is reached.

A later leather strap has been fitted.

The watch will be sent in a new presentation box.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
