~ French - Circa 1890 ~

~~ Excellent condition, fully overhauled ~~

A beautiful original antique French clock in the Baroque style. A tall flaming finial is flanked by the stylised tails of two dolphins. the sides are draped with floral swags and scrolls with mythical creatures. The clock sits on boldly scrolling feet and the front is fretted to allow the pendulum to be seen swinging inside the case.

The dial is porcelain enamel on copper with finely fretted gilt hands and convex glass.

The French movement is of high quality and is by A D Mougin. It is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully overhauled by our clockmaker. Pendulum is a replacement. It runs for 8 days and strikes the hours and halves on a bell. We have a video of the clock running, please ask.

Condition of the case is excellent, the original gilding is beautifully clean and bright with hardly any wear or discolouration and there are no losses. The dial is also in excellent condition with no damage.

A. D. Mougin clockmaker's mark on the movement backplate

Complete with pendulum, bell and a suitable key. Full setting up instructions supplied if required.
