Rawlings Antiques has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
S and H Jewell were fine quality cabinet makers who were established in 1830.
W.C.2. They are recorded to have sold furniture to the Arts and Crafts home, Standen House, East Grinstead, Sussex and stated on the receipt dated 1st May 1894, states the company was founded in 1830 but there are not many records of their earlier pieces. They also restored early pieces of antique and re sold them in their London shop.

The chairs are in great condition very solid through out with no loose joints and no woodworm ,they have been recently upholstered and French polished in our workshop ,ready for their new home , good sets of eight antique chairs very seldom come onto the open market , these would go very well well with the Regency style twin pillar dining tables i have in stock

dimensions are as follows ,the carver chairs are width 57 cms depth 46 cms and height 102 cms ,single chairs width 51 cms depth 40 cms and height 98 cms
