Mytton Antiques - Jerrard Nares has dated this piece to the 1750s.
The jar with an outward sloped rim, above a waisted ring. The rounded body with a spout to one side, and a rounded handle with finger grip to the outer side. The body tapering into a waisted stem, spreading to a downward swept circular foot. The body with a scrolling reserve flanked by a pair of peacocks. The lower edge centred by a cherub, amongst floral tassels. The reserve titled for the contents 'A.SABIOSA'.
In excellent condition throughout.
