This Late Regency mahogany clock dating from the first half of the 19th century is typical of the well made clocks from this period.
The cross banded case having typical finely carved swan neck hood with slender proportioned door. The cross grained veneer being a feature of quality is difficult and expensive to produce and this example is a good example of this. I have very carefully removed every layer of dirt, dust and grime to reveal its original shellac high gloss finish, this process ensures that the clock does not have to be re-lacquered and helps to conserve its original condition.
The solid mahogany door shows no sign of warping or shrinkage and retains its original lock and key.
The well made knopped pillar movement having rack striking is finely madewith slender wheelwork and finely cut teeth. The movement is currently being totally overhauled by me and will come with a full three years guarantee for your peace of mind.
