Victorian Coromandel wood Jewellery box Middle of the 19th century Victorian Coromandel wood Jewellery box with brass edges. The box made for the company Mordan & Co London, the brass lock stamped. The interior is compartmentalised and lined with black leather and blue velvet. The front tray lifts out with another leather covered removable tray below. To the back edge of the box is a press button release which when applied allows the drawer in the base to spring open. The drawer has a leather lid and is blue silk lined and would store rings necklaces and other jewellery. The under side of the lid holds a mirror that can be removed and will stand as a dressing mirror, behind the mirror is a leather correspondence folder. The box is in good order, the blue velvet in the interior is slightly worn.
