Description

Pretty Derby coffee can with a "French" style handle with grooved sides. Painted with large floral pattern in an imari palette of red and blue with gilded highlights. Red mark to the base, c.1810.

It measures 9cm (3 1/2") rim to handle, 6.5cm (2 5/8") rim to rim and 6.5cm (2 5/8") high. Condition is very good with no damage or restoration. There is a tiny nibble to the foot and a short firing line under the base (doesn't come through to the inside). A little wear to the gilding around the rim and below the blue band under the rim but surface wear otherwise is light and the surface is lightly crazed.
