Arthur Reginald Smith RWS,RSW,RCA 1872-1934.Landscape and figure painter in watercolour.Born and educated at Skipton-in-Craven,Yorkshire.Studied at Keighley School of Art and taught there for several years.In 1901 he went to the RCA where he obtained his diploma in 1904.He received a travelling scholarship from the Painting School 1905 and studied in Italy the following year.Exhibited at the RA,other leading London galleries ,in the provinces and abroad.Elected ARWS 1917,RWS 1925,RSW 1926.Represented in several public collections.He worked mainly in England and also widely in France.Received commissions to execute watercolours in Marlborough House,later at Buckingham Palace.Lived at Grassington in Yorkshire,and drowned in the zRiver Wharfe,near Bolton Abbey.’The Road to Burnsall ,North Yorkshire’, signed watercolour, image size 24x36.5 cms,framed size 46x60 cms.Newly framed in a gilt frame with a wash line mount
