Antique Furniture Direct has dated this piece to the Edwardian era.
It has a drop handle which allows the front fall to drop down to reveal a handy storage facility for sheet music etc. It stands on turned feet and has scrolled lifting handles. The drop in seat has been recovered in a cream coloured brocade with a pattern of gold leaves.
