Attractive antique black lacquered oriental pig skin shipping trunk.

A lovely antique black painted pig skin shipping trunk. We date this trunk to the early 20th century.

The trunk comprises a large rear hinged lidded box.

It has been black painted over the original lacquered finish.

The trunk has a height of 18" (46cm), a width of 38" (97cm) and a depth of 23" (59cm).

This lovely trunk remains in a solid condition with only minor surface markings commensurate with age and usage. There is an amount of wear to the edges and finish from past use.

This remains a very stylish and functional trunk which would function well as a toy storage box, coffee table or a linen chest etc. It will continue to provide good service for many years to come.
